Dr. Vernon’s personal orthodontic and dental experiences as a child allow him to more clearly understand the challenges many patients face. As a reliable and knowledgeable dentist near Englewood, he takes pride in alleviating the discomfort of those visiting Riviera Family Dentistry.
Experiencing difficulty with an impacted canine tooth during his youth, he underwent therapy (uncovering and orthodontic manipulation) to guide it into place. Part of this process included two oral surgeries as well as extended treatment that lasted five years, five months, and 25 days.
While working toward a healthier and straighter smile, Dr. Vernon began to consider his future career. Interested in the medical field, he decided to shadow his orthodontist. This allowed him to understand this unique specialization more clearly; in fact, he later accepted the position of an assistant who helped run the office. This experience led to his decision to pursue dentistry, which eventually led to him becoming a licensed dentist.
After obtaining his bachelor's degree at Indiana University, he went on to attend the university’s School of Dentistry to receive his dental doctorate.
Since graduating with his degree, he has remained a student of the field, taking various continuing education courses to not only refine his skills but also stay up to date on the latest changes and advancements. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and the Colorado Dental Association. This allows him to provide the most effective care to his patients.
When he’s not busy improving the smiles of those living in and around Englewood, you’ll often find him spending time with his family, which includes his parents and his two younger sisters. He also enjoys hanging out and doing new and fun things with his friends.

Sometimes, patients are hesitant to visit their dentist because of the cost. It’s important to remember, however, that dentistry isn’t expensive, neglect is. If you prioritize your biannual visits and get the restorative dentistry you need in the early stages, you will save thousands of dollars over the years. In fact, one study in the Journal of Dental Medicine shared that every dollar invested in preventive care can save you between $8 and $50 on restorative and cosmetic treatments!
It's also important to note that there are several financial solutions available to lower your out-of-pocket expenses, including dental insurance, flexible financing, and special offers. Fortunately, we offer all of those at our dental office near Englewood! So, if you’re working within a monthly budget, don’t hesitate to let us know so we can help you navigate the financial side of your treatment as well.
Whether you’re struggling with a minor toothache or a completely knocked-out tooth, one of the first questions you may ask yourself is, “Where do I turn for help?” That depends! If you’re experiencing any potentially life-threatening symptoms, such as difficulty breathing or trouble swallowing, then call 911 or head to your nearest ER right away. While there likely won’t be a dentist on-staff, they can provide you with the medical attention you need. After that, you can call our office for a same-day appointment.
If, on the other hand, you aren’t experiencing potentially life-threatening symptoms, then calling our office is the best first step. With morning, lunchtime, evening, and weekend hours, there’s a very good chance we will be able to restore your pain-free smile the very same day!
The average cost of a dental checkup and cleaning in the United States is between $200 and $350. Of course, important factors like dental insurance also need to be taken into account since they can dramatically change your out-of-pocket expenses.
Remember, these routine visits to your dentist aren’t optional. On the contrary, they are essential! These appointments allow our dentist to screen for oral health problems, check for oral cancer, clean the hard-to-reach areas of your mouth, remove stubborn plaque, share dental care tips, and so much more.
